The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, mni, has commended officers and men of the Corps for their exemplary service and professionalism during the Christmas travel operations across the country.
The Corps Marshal described the performance of FRSC personnel as exceptional and historic, noting that their resilience and strategic interventions played a key role in easing traffic congestion on major highways, including the notoriously busy Lokoja axis and other critical road corridors nationwide.
According to him, despite intense traffic pressure, extended work hours, harsh weather conditions and heavy vehicular volumes, FRSC personnel remained disciplined and professional, demonstrating the Corps’ readiness to safeguard lives under challenging circumstances.
He stated that officers and men of the Corps went beyond the call of duty, working tirelessly to ensure smooth traffic flow and safer mobility for Nigerians during the festive period. Their courage, endurance and commitment, he added, reaffirm the Corps’ dedication to road safety and efficient traffic management.
The Corps Marshal further emphasised that the successful handling of traffic during the Christmas season reflected improved operational efficiency, stronger coordination and effective leadership across all levels of the organisation. He also acknowledged the sacrifices of personnel who stayed on duty while others celebrated with their families, describing such dedication as the hallmark of patriotism and public service.
As traffic volume remained high ahead of the New Year celebrations, Shehu Mohammed urged FRSC personnel to sustain the momentum, remain vigilant and continue to uphold the core values of the Corps. He reassured Nigerians of FRSC’s continued commitment to ensuring safer highways and hitch-free travel nationwide.
The Federal Road Safety Corps reaffirmed its statutory mandate to reduce road crashes, promote responsible road use and protect lives on Nigerian roads.
