The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has disengaged forty-three (43) personnel over offences bordering on desertion, scandalous conduct, and patrol-related misconduct, in a move described as a firm demonstration of the Corps’ zero-tolerance policy on indiscipline.
The affected personnel include thirty-one (31) dismissed for desertion, five (5) for scandalous behaviour, and seven (7) for patrol misconduct.
Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, disclosed this in a statement issued on 12 February 2026, noting that the action underscores the Corps’ commitment to professionalism and ethical standards.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the disengagement as a bold reaffirmation of FRSC’s uncompromising stance against ethical violations and operational misconduct. He stressed that the FRSC remains a disciplined paramilitary organisation guided by strict service standards and will not tolerate any conduct capable of eroding public trust or undermining its institutional integrity.
According to him, desertion constituted a grave violation of the service oath, particularly in a safety-critical agency tasked with safeguarding the lives of millions of road users daily. He added that scandalous behaviour and patrol misconduct directly contradict the Corps’ core values of discipline, transparency, and service excellence.
Mohammed assured Nigerians that the Corps would continue to strengthen internal monitoring mechanisms, enhance supervisory frameworks, and intensify ethical reorientation programmes across all Commands nationwide.
He called on the motoring public to sustain their confidence in the FRSC and continue supporting its mandate of ensuring safer roads for all.
