The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has once again demonstrated its commitment to combating vehicle-related crimes with the recovery of a stolen vehicle at RS2.1114 Isolo Unit Command.
On Saturday, 28 February 2026, at approximately 17:11hrs, FRSC operatives apprehended a Toyota Sienna (Ash colour) with registration number LSD438GK for Vehicle Licence Violation after the driver failed to produce valid vehicle documents. During standard enforcement procedures, the vehicle was impounded.
Subsequent checks revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen, and the driver was already wanted by law enforcement authorities. On Monday, the suspect was handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ajao Division, in handcuffs for further investigation and prosecution.
The recovery highlighted the growing effectiveness of FRSC’s operational intelligence and routine patrol enforcement. What initially appeared as a simple traffic violation led to the interception of a stolen vehicle, showcasing the vigilance and professionalism of FRSC personnel.
FRSC continue to leverage the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS), a digital traceability and verification system, to identify and recover stolen vehicles nationwide. NVIS has also enhanced inter-agency collaboration, transparency in vehicle registration, and efforts to curb criminal syndicates involved in vehicle theft and identity manipulation.
The Corps emphasized that traffic enforcement extends beyond road compliance, serving as a critical tool for national security, crime prevention, and public safety. Motorists are urged to ensure their vehicles are properly documented and to cooperate fully with patrol operatives.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, commended the recovery team and reaffirmed the Corps’ dedication to leveraging technology, intelligence, and strategic partnerships to safeguard lives and property on Nigerian roads.
