Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the payment of examination fees for students in government-owned Schools of Health Technology across the state. This approval is aimed at supporting students who will be sitting for their national examinations this year.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, stated that this initiative demonstrated the Governor’s commitment to enhancing healthcare education and easing the financial burden on students and their families. The payment covered all eligible students preparing for their national examinations in various health technology programs.
Alhaji Usman highlighted that the decision is expected to increase the number of students taking their examinations and contribute to producing a greater number of qualified healthcare professionals in Niger State. “This administration recognizes the essential role of well-trained healthcare professionals in strengthening our healthcare system. By covering these fees, we are investing in the future of our healthcare services,” he said.
The approval of examination fees is part of Governor Bago’s broader efforts to improve education and healthcare in the state. His administration continues to implement initiatives aimed at upgrading educational infrastructure and expanding access to healthcare services, reinforcing its dedication to human capital development.
