Edo State Governor , Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Hon. (Barr.) Oladele Bankole-Balogun as the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue.
A seasoned professional and legal expert, Hon. Bankole-Balogun is expected to bring in decades of experience in law, corporate governance, and public service. Born in 1961 into the renowned Bankole Balogun family of Igarra, Akoko-Edo, he holds a Political Science degree from the University of Ibadan, an LLB from the University of London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law, London.
His professional affiliations included;the Law Society of England and Wales, the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). Over the years, he has held key positions in organizations such as Cadbury Nigeria, Pfizer UK, and Alphabet Group UK, and he served as Federal Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (2012–2015).
Governor Okpebholo also announced the nominations of three Executive Directors for the board:
Deacon Idiake Patrick Akhimien (Edo Central)
Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo (Edo North)
Hon. Engr. Jackson Eribo (Edo South)
According to Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., these appointments are part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen the state’s revenue system and drive economic development.
Hon. Bankole-Balogun, who has also been active in Edo State politics, expressed gratitude for the nomination and pledged to implement forward-thinking strategies to improve revenue collection and management in the state.
