Gov Okpebholo inspects Road Projects, reaffirms commitment to Quality Infrastructure

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has reiterated his administration’s determination to provide motorable roads across the state, emphasized the importance of quality and timely delivery of projects.

The Governor made this statement during an inspection tour of ongoing road construction projects within Benin City and its environs. The inspection, carried out alongside senior government officials, included visits to major sites such as the Obadan Junction on the Benin-Auchi Expressway, Upper Mission by Aduwawa Junction, Temboga Road, and Upper Ekenwan Road near the Military Cantonment.

Residents at these locations expressed their gratitude for the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure, commending Governor Okpebholo for prioritizing their needs.

Speaking during the inspection, Governor Okpebholo expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects, noting that contractors were adhering to specifications and maintaining high standards.

“I am satisfied with the level of work done so far. You can see that asphalt has been laid, and the progress is meeting my expectations. I think about these roads constantly because I want my people to enjoy smooth and accessible roads. This is why I personally monitor the construction instead of delegating the task to others,” the Governor stated.

The Governor stressed that conducting the inspection during the holiday season was deliberate to ensure contractors expedite their work while maintaining quality.

“We are in the holiday period, but I made it a point to see the work first-hand to ensure the contractors deliver on their promises and meet the required standards,” he added.

Gov Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its five-point agenda, with infrastructural development identified as a top priority for 2024.

The projects inspected are expected to significantly improve connectivity, ease transportation, and enhance the quality of life for Edo State residents.
