The Governor spoke through his Chief of Staff, Malam Ibrahim Balarabe when he received members of the Society for Family Health on an advocacy visit to the state on Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) Replacement and other Malaria Interventions.
The Governor described the Health sector as a priority in his administration, he stated that the advocacy on malaria was a welcomed idea to the state assured that his government will partner with the organization to fight the war against malaria in order to ensure a free malaria environment.
Governor Sani Bello emphasized that the health of the citizens of the state was paramount and must be taken as a priority as “nothing can be achieved without good health”.
According to him, the state will make provision for its counterparts funding between the year 2018 and 2020 provided there was that understanding on the process of implementing the road map for the excersice.
He expressed the state government’s readiness to ensure a hitch free excersice by ensuring the provision of security personnels as well as logistics for the excercise.
Earlier, the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, represented by the Medical Director, Federal Medical Center, Bida, Dr. Aminu Usman said that the team was in the state to ensure a malaria free environment through the distribution of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) noted that malaria remain a major public health challenge in the country.
He assured that the Insecticidal Nets would be distributed to all the nook and crannies of the the state to ensure that it get to each household.
Dr. Aminu Usman disclosed that the distribution of 3,605,713 insecticidal nets would commence in November and called on the people to ensure its usage so as to achieve a malaria free environment.
