The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi Saidu Paiko in Minna, Niger State, in a show of solidarity and respect for the fallen officer.

The visit was confirmed in a statement issued by Yunusa Saidu Ibrahim, Director of Information Services and Public Relations, Niger State Ministry of Information and Orientation. Governor Zulum arrived in Minna via the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, where he was received by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Obed Nuhu Nana, alongside other government officials.
During the visit to the residence of the deceased, the governor was received by the widow and members of the bereaved family. He expressed profound sympathy over their loss, describing the late Lieutenant Colonel as a gallant and committed officer who paid the ultimate price in service to Nigeria.
The governor also joined the family in prayers for the repose of the officer’s soul and for strength and comfort for those he left behind.
As part of his support, Governor Zulum made a financial donation to assist the family during this difficult period.
The visit highlighted the need to continually honour fallen heroes and provide sustained support to their families, while reinforcing national commitment to security and service.
