GreenLand News Magazine, in partnership with the Young Entrepreneurs and Innovators Foundation (YEI Foundation), on today held its Annual Lecture and Award Ceremony in Abuja, focused on the intersection of media, innovation and youth development.
With the theme “Building a Future of Impact: Media, Innovation, and Youth Empowerment,” the event brought together media executives, policymakers, innovators, youth leaders and development advocates committed to fostering national progress.
In her opening remarks, the Editor-in-Chief of GreenLand News Magazine, Amb. Dr. Peace Ofeoshi, highlighted the crucial role of media and technology in shaping a more inclusive and dynamic society. She said empowering young people with the right skills and opportunities remains key to unlocking their potential and driving national development.
“The media remains a powerful force for accountability and storytelling. Innovation opens new pathways for growth and solutions. And our youth energetic, creative and resilient hold the key to transforming these opportunities into real impact,” she said.
Ofeoshi also emphasized the importance of collaboration across institutions, communities and youth-led organizations to accelerate meaningful development across the continent.
The Chairman of the occasion, Comrade Shanabo Abubakar, in his goodwill message, stressed the need for deliberate investment in youth skill-building to tackle unemployment and promote economic growth. He noted that Nigeria’s youthful population should be regarded as a valuable national resource.
“Structured training, mentorship and access to opportunities can turn young people into employers of labour. Investing in youth skills will reduce unemployment and strengthen the economy,” he stated.
The ceremony featured keynote discussions, networking sessions and the presentation of awards to distinguished individuals and organisations for excellence, leadership and contributions to community advancement.
