HallowMace Foundation Africa has announced plans to host the inaugural National Legislative Awards 2026, an initiative aimed at recognising excellence, accountability, and effective representation within Nigeria’s legislative institutions.
The awards ceremony, scheduled to hold in July 2026, will celebrate outstanding performances by Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and State Assembly Legislators who have distinguished themselves in lawmaking, oversight responsibilities, policy advocacy, and constituency service.
HallowMace Foundation Africa, a Nigerian non-profit organisation with over a decade of experience in parliamentary advocacy and governance reforms, said the initiative is designed to promote integrity, transparency, and best practices within the legislative arm of government.
According to the Foundation, the National Legislative Awards will serve as a platform to strengthen public confidence in democratic institutions by spotlighting impactful legislation and exemplary leadership across federal and state assemblies.
Speaking on the initiative, Ambassador Anderson Osiebe, Executive Director of HallowMace Foundation Africa, described the awards as a strategic effort to drive improved legislative performance nationwide.
He noted that the programme represents a natural progression of the organisation’s long-standing work in parliamentary engagement, adding that it is intended to encourage healthy competition and rebuild public trust in the legislature.
Supporting the initiative, Dr. Chris Odey of the International Goodwill Ambassador Club said the awards aligned with the organisation’s objective of promoting accountability and excellence within the legislative framework.
Similarly, Dr. Chibuzo Okereke of ERGAF Africa stated that the awards are expected to encourage accelerated performance, accountability, and improved policy formulation across Nigeria’s parliamentary chambers, while also providing credible evaluation mechanisms for legislative work.
On her part, Queen Isabella Ayuk, Founder of the Isabella Ayuk Foundation, emphasised that the selection process for the awards would strictly adhere to due process and merit-based assessment, without favoritism.
The National Legislative Awards 2026 is powered by HallowMace Foundation Africa, in partnership with the International Goodwill Ambassador Club, ERGAF Africa, and the Isabella Ayuk Foundation.
Organisers said further details on nomination criteria, categories, and event logistics will be made public in the coming months.
