El-Birru Muslim Association of Nigeria (EMAN) yesterday August 22nd, 2020 joined million of muslims all over the world to mark the entry into an Islamic New Year.
In the welcome address delivered by the National Amir, Arc. Abdulyekeen Mamman, he appealed to muslims to harken to Allah’s commandments and to distance themselves from all forms of life style that is not in tandem with the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (May Peace be upon Him).
The dignitaries at the event were the Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheikh Salihu Abere, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Ahmed, Estate Consultant from Kaduna who served as the Chief Launcher, Arch.Abdulmumuni Okara, former Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on SDG, Ohi of Eika, Alhaji Shehu Umar Adaviruku, Ustaz Adam Yusuf Guest Speaker(Knowledgebased Services Ltd, Abuja), Hajia Maryam Ibrahim Salihu, Matron of the EMAN amongst others.
The Chairman of the occasion, His Eminence Alhaji Ahmed Badamasi ably represented by the Ohi of Eika, congratulated the Muslim Ummah who withnessed the new year and thanked Allah for the peace enjoyed in the State.
The Guest speaker Ustaz Adam Yusuf in his lecture spoke extensively on COVID-19 and advised the Muslims to adhere to NCDC, State Government and the health authority directives so as to curtail the spread of the virus.
Arc. Mamman further called for prayers for the deceased Muslims and appealed to Muslim Ummah to support the association morally, financially and otherwise.
According to him, the activities of EMAN to mark the new Islamic year started on the 20th August with fasting, followed by Health awareness and medical check ups, Welfare Visit to Correctional Service Centre and yesterday was for Public Lecture and the launching of the Islamic Calendar to mark the new year (Hijrah) and also Media Tour on notable Media House in Kogi Central
