The Okossi-Udung Ukpong-Otieke Road being sponsored by the former Member, Oro Federal Constituency, Hon. Robinson Uwak, would soon be completed, as contractors were working day and night to deliver on deadline.
An unplanned visit to the site by a team of reporters, on Friday, May 12, shown an exceedingly high level of progress as the thick layered road had workers in their number, going about their normal business.
Residents of the area who spoke with newsmen, including Mr Frank Edem and Edu Ating were full of praises to Hon. Uwak for his humanitarian disposition, saying the road when completed would be a link between the communities.
The duo said the Okossi-Udung Ukpong-Otieke Road, which linked Okobo and Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Areas of Oro Nation, would save the people, the stress of traversing the area through rough and narrow road.
They prayed God’s continued preservation of Robinson Uwak, for bringing such a wonderful invitative to the doorsteps of the masses.
The people also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his interest in serving the masses and in extending development to the part of the country.
Speaking with journalists on his inspiration to embark on the project, Hon. Robinson Uwak, said it was in his character to attract development to his people.
He recalled his meritorious service, while he was the Member of Parliament, which made the Council of Oro Traditional Rulers to decorate him with a honorary chieftaincy title of Uduonyi Oro.
While thanking the residents of the area for their cooperation, and for protecting the tools of the workers, Uwak assured the people that the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s administration would be a blessing and would yield enormous dividends of democracy to them.
