The House of Representatives Spokesperson and Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon. Akin Rotimi, in collaboration with the National Productivity Centre (NPC), has distributed Renewed Hope cash grants and organised leadership training for residents of Ekiti North I Federal Constituency in Ekiti State.
The empowerment programme, which covered Ikole and Oye Local Government Areas, was held on Saturday at the Ilupeju Ekiti Cooperative Multipurpose Hall, Ilupeju-Ekiti.
Speaking at the event, Rotimi urged constituents to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), ahead of the 2027 general elections. He said the policies and programmes of the President were designed to promote national development and improve the welfare of Nigerians.
According to him, President Tinubu has demonstrated exemplary leadership, which should cascade to all levels of governance, from the federal to the grassroots, for the emergence of a virile and prosperous society.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has displayed role-model leadership, and this must reflect at all levels of government for the benefit of our people,” Rotimi said.
He pledged to sustain the grant scheme and leadership training initiatives in Ikole and Oye, stressed that continuous empowerment would help strengthen economic activities and discourage social vices among youths.
Rotimi also reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructural, economic and social development in the constituency, noting that politics must always be people-oriented.
“Politics is local and must carry the people along. My priority remains the welfare and progress of Ekiti North I,” he added.
Highlights of the programme included the immediate disbursement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope grants to beneficiaries and the presentation of certificates to participants who completed the leadership training.
A total of 100 beneficiaries drawn from the two local government areas received financial support under the scheme, aimed at empowering small business owners, youths and vulnerable residents.
Some beneficiaries, who spoke at the event, expressed appreciation to the lawmaker and the Federal Government for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. They pledged their continued support for the administration and promised to make good use of the assistance.
The programme formed part of ongoing efforts by Hon. Akin Rotimi to complement the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and promote inclusive development in Ekiti North I Federal Constituency.
