The Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission Hussani Ishaq Magaji, has been conferred with the Honorary Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) by the President and Council Members.
The conferment was made today during a courtesy call on the Registrar-General by the President of ICSAN, Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, FCIS who led members of the council to the Commission.
The conferment formal ceremony would be held in September, 2024.
In her remarks, the President thanked the RG for receiving them and also congratulated him on his well-deserved appointment as the very first Learned Silk (SAN) to occupy such an esteemed position in CAC.
Speaking further, she commended the RG for the innovations he has brought to CAC within his short stay in office.
The President sees today’s meeting as strategic one between the two organizations which will enhance symbiotic partnership in areas such as Insolvency Practice, Nomination into CAC Governing Board, Enrolment of Senior Staff into ICSAN, approval of ICSAN Curriculum for capacity building as well as setting up of a Joint-Committee to track and monitor ICSAN/CAC activities.
The President promised to sustain the already existing cordial relationship and praised the RG for accepting to attend the upcoming Round-Table on Corporate Governance event of the Institute scheduled for Thursday 4th July, 2024 in Abuja.
The Registrar-General, Hussani Ishaq Magaji, in his response expressed his gratitude to the President and the Council Members of the Institute for conferring the ICSAN Honorary Fellowship on him and assured them of the Commission’s willingness for symbiotic relationship, he however urged them to ensure compliance by Corporate Entities with regards to statutory filings.
The RG further requested the Institute to forward a detailed position paper on how to revive the Commission’s training school.
Also present at the event were some CAC Management Staff and ICSAN Members in the Commission.
The highpoint of the visit was a symbolic exchange of gifts between the RG and the ICSAN President.
