The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to international capacity building and global best practices in law enforcement.
The IGP made this known at the graduation ceremony of three Nigerian police officers at the Abu Dhabi Police College, United Arab Emirates, where he was represented by the Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL Lagos Annex, CP Bode Ojajuni.
He noted that the training aligned with the vision of the Nigeria Police Force to enhance professionalism, operational efficiency, and compliance with global policing standards through strategic international partnerships.
The officers participated in the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and UAE Ministry of Interior Police Academy Exchange Programme, a collaborative initiative designed to strengthen cross-border law enforcement cooperation.
Under the programme, 52 officers from 44 police agencies across 35 countries underwent a four-month basic academy training at the Abu Dhabi Police College. Among the graduates were DSP Abdullah Yusuf, ASP Faith Asigidi, and Inspector Noah Joseph of the INTERPOL Bureau, Nigeria Police Force.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, alongside senior Emirati government officials, police leaders, and international dignitaries.
The Nigeria Police Force stated that the exposure gained by the officers would enhance Nigeria’s capacity in crime prevention, intelligence sharing, and the fight against transnational crimes.
The Force further reiterated its commitment to continuous personnel development through sustained international cooperation in line with global best practices.
