The Honourable Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Obed Nuhu Nana, has congratulated Mr. Ismaila Saba Favu on his elevation to the position of Chief of Staff to the National President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The congratulatory message was conveyed in a statement signed by Yunusa Saidu Ibrahim, Director of Information Services and Public Relations, on behalf of the Commissioner, who described the appointment as well-deserved.
The Commissioner noted that the elevation reflects Mr. Favu’s unwavering dedication, professionalism, and remarkable contributions during his tenure as Senior Special Assistant to the President (North), as well as the confidence reposed in his ability to deliver at a higher level of responsibility.
He further observed that the appointment comes at a critical time when visionary leadership, strategic coordination, and effective administration are required to advance the welfare of journalists and strengthen institutional growth within the NUJ.
“It is our firm belief that you will bring your wealth of experience and competence to bear in this new responsibility, while advancing the interest of all journalists,” the statement read.
While wishing him continued success, the Ministry expressed confidence in his capacity to justify the trust placed in him and to contribute meaningfully to the growth and stability of the union.
