The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has commended the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for its pivotal role in Nigeria’s economic growth over the past 35 years.
The minister gave the accolade during a meeting with CAC Registrar-General and CEO, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, in Abuja, praised reforms that have simplified company registration. Nigerians can now register businesses online from the comfort of their homes, a development aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to ease doing business in the country.
“It is heartwarming that Nigerians can now register companies online without any hassle,” Minister Idris said.
He also highlighted CAC’s contribution to Nigeria’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list in late 2025, a milestone that has strengthened the nation’s credibility in combating terrorism financing and money laundering.
Minister Idris congratulated the commission for its achievements, particularly over the last three years, noting the critical role of technology in streamlining processes.
CAC CEO Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, spoke about ongoing reforms, including the use of Artificial Intelligence to enable start-to-finish registration of business names within minutes. He also unveiled plans to celebrate CAC’s 35th anniversary starting 6 February 2026, alongside a new website featuring an AI lawyer assistant to further improve ease of doing business in Nigeria.
