The Federal Ministry of Interior has announced a complete transition to electronic communication for all official engagements effective 1st December, 2025, marking a major milestone in its digital transformation drive.
A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary Dr. Magdalene Ajani on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Interior,Hon Olubunmi Tunji Ojo,stated that the move aligned with the Digitalisation Reform Pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP 2025) and complied with the directive from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation mandating MDAs to adopt electronic communication and records management.
With the new policy taking effect, the Ministry will no longer accept manual submission of letters, mails or any form of physical correspondence. All official documents, requests and communications must now be submitted electronically through the Ministry’s authorised digital platforms.
The Ministry stressed that the transition is designed to strengthen service delivery, enhance transparency and support the Federal Government’s broader goal of achieving a fully digitalised public service. It urged all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), organisations, partners and members of the public to comply fully to ensure seamless processing of communications.
