The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri‑Erewa, has called on Nigerian women to actively participate in politics as a means of shaping national discourse and contributing to the country’s development.
Dabiri-Erewa made the call while delivering a keynote address at the International Women’s Day seminar organised by Zenith Bank at the Civic Centre.

Speaking on the theme “Take It, You Own It,” she encouraged women to support one another and work collectively toward nation-building.
The NiDCOM boss also commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what she described as inclusive leadership through the appointment and election of women into key positions. She further praised the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for her initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of women and children across the country.
In her remarks, the Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank, Adaora Umeoji, urged women to remain courageous, dedicated and visionary in their pursuits.
She noted that the bank’s International Women’s Day seminar is an annual event designed to inspire and empower women both within and outside the country. According to her, the programme provides a platform for leadership development, professional growth and meaningful dialogue on issues affecting women.
The seminar also promoted women empowerment, social impact and inclusive economic participation.
