JAMB Announces dates for 2025 UTME Registration and Examination

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the sale of UTME application forms will commence on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025. Additionally, sales of forms for Direct Entry (DE) candidates will begin on March 10, 2025, and conclude on April 7, 2025.

The Mock UTME is set to hold on April 5, 2025, while the main UTME will take place between April 25, 2025, and May 5, 2025.

Candidates opting for the UTME with a mock test are required to pay a total fee of ₦8,200, while those registering for the UTME only will pay ₦7,200. The fee breakdown includes:

Application Fee: ₦3,500

Reading Text: ₦1,000

CBT Centre Registration Service Charge: ₦700

CBT Centre UTME Service Charge: ₦1,500

Mock CBT Service Charge: ₦1,500

Bank Charges: ₦500

For the first time, JAMB has introduced a mock examination tailored for candidates below the age of 16. While the mock test is not for admission purposes, it aims to help younger candidates assess their preparedness for future exams.

Prof. Oloyede clarified that candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025, to qualify for admission into tertiary institutions. However, exceptions may be made for exceptional candidates under the age of 15, provided they score a minimum of 280 in the UTME and excel in their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and post-UTME tests.

The JAMB Registrar urged prospective candidates to prepare thoroughly and take advantage of the various resources provided by the board for success in the examination.
