The death of Professor Ibrahim Ayagi has just been announced in Kano. We are both married to the daughters of late Mustapha Falaki of Daneji. Allah ya jikansa.
We are all concerned because all of us have some relations in Kano. In addition to two daughters, I have three grand-daughters and plenty in-laws there. It is a city dear to us. The news of deaths from there is disheartening. What is happening there is also affecting other states.
Can the Governor, Emir and other personalities rise up, demand an urgent assistance from Abuja and do the needful themselves? The FG must come to the aid of Kano as it did to Lagos.
Kano at this moment is clearly missing two people, its former Governor and its former Emir. May God be with the inhabitants of the ancient city and with us all.
