The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded a major breakthrough with the successful processing of its first declaration using B’ODOGWU, an indigenous digital platform designed to modernize Customs operations.
The milestone was achieved on Thursday, 14th August 2025, during a sensitization exercise conducted by ICT Modernisation Officers for officers and stakeholders of the Command.
Speaking at the event, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller CC Nwokorie, described the feat as historic and commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for championing the innovation. He noted that the platform, developed by Officers and Men of the Service with the support of concessionaires under the Trade Modernisation Project, was designed to enhance revenue generation and facilitate seamless trade.
“B’ODOGWU represents the future of Customs operations. As a vital revenue generation tool, it is essential for Officers and Stakeholders to acquire adequate knowledge of the platform and its applications,” Comptroller Nwokorie stated.
During the training, Licensed Agents and Traders were guided on registration and effective usage of the platform. The Chairman of the Nigeria Customs Licensed Agents, Kebbi State Chapter, Alhaji Muhammad Nahali Kamba, applauded the Comptroller-General for the initiative and pledged the association’s commitment to complying with all operational guidelines.
The sensitization session ended with a group photograph and exchange of pleasantries, reflecting a collective resolve to embrace innovation for improved service delivery.
