A media analyst, Malam Abubakar Yusuf has commended the FCT Minister , Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for the revocation of over 4,000 plots that defied ground rent over the years, saying this will bring sanity to land administration in the nations city .

In a statement on Thursday, he also solicit the Minister to go beyond allocated lands by revoking undeveloped plots , unoccupied and completed houses both in the FCT and area councils to further sanitize land allocation, utilisation and administration.

According to him , “In the city centre, and worst hit the area councils, many lands allocated for over the decades are been abandoned to be resold at high rate, as this is hampering development and harboring criminal elements of all sorts.”

“Those undergoing construction should either be completed within record and given time or have their allocation revoked and reallocated , as most of these places are criminal hideouts that are terrorising innocent citizens of the nations city.”

“The area councils are worst hit , as local government officials and council Chairmen have turned themselves to Demi- Gods with improper and selfish land administration policy that favours their tenure and their collaborators.”

“He urged the mandate secretary for land and those in charge to wake up in line with the Ministers overture, spirit and zeal , along with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda to build a befitting city centre that Nigerians will be proud of”

He asked the Minister to be more decisive on land administration in the FCT, as that will be part of the success story already achieved by the record time of two years.

“Land administration and infrastructure is the problem of FCT, once government decisions is taken on them , other issues will be resolved naturally and timely .”

He asked the Minister not to be perturbed by series of criticisms and backstabbing, stating that Nigerians believes in business as usual.

While congratulating the Minister on the Doctorate degree PhD award by the University of Calabar, he assured him of media cooperation and coverage,as his ascension to the FCT leadership has improved media performance in the country.
