The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has pledged its commitment to providing seamless registration processes for foreign organisations operating in Nigeria.
The Registrar-General/CEO of CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, gave this assurance during a courtesy visit by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Malaria Consortium (MC), Professor Wilfred Mbacham, to his office in Abuja.
Magaji emphasized the strategic importance of the CAC in facilitating business operations in Nigeria and assured Malaria Consortium of the Commission’s full support in line with the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Mbacham highlighted the organisation’s mission to register its Nigerian counterpart, Malaria and Public Health Nigeria, as a Limited by Guarantee (LTD/GTE). He noted that this would enable the charity to expand its impact on Nigeria’s health sector.
Dr. Kolawole Maxwell, Malaria Consortium’s Director of Programs Africa, described the organisation as a United Kingdom-based charity dedicated to saving lives and improving health across Africa and Asia. Since its inception in Nigeria in 2008, the organisation has recruited over 5,000 staff and operating in 17 states, including Kano, Bauchi, Katsina, and Osun.
He added that the registration of the Nigerian entity would enhance collaboration with the government and stakeholders at all levels to promote universal health coverage and combat targeted diseases.
The CAC Registrar-General reiterated the Commission’s readiness to support such initiatives, underscoring the importance of fostering partnerships that align with Nigeria’s development goals.
