A middle aged man, Azeez Kuforiji, was on Wednesday arrested in a Ogun state for allegedly biting off the index finger of his ex-girlfriend, Soliat.
The police charged Kuforiji, whose address was not provided, with assault and inflicting a wound.
The suspect committed the offence on October 12, and has been taken to Wawa Police Station in Ogun State.
It was gathered that the suspect visited the victim who is a shop attendant at her office in Arepo, Ogun State and attacked her for not answering his phone calls.
“He has been beating her before now but she never reported. Azeez paid her an unfriendly visit two days ago and beat her mercilessly for ignoring his calls. He then proceeded to use his teeth to cut off her fingers”, a witness said.
“The case was reported at Wawa police station and he was arrested while Soliat was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. However, they’re threatening the victim to withdraw the case,” the source said.
