Managed Migration, Beneficial To Migrants And Governments – CG NIS

The Acting Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Isah Jere Idris has reiterated the need for partnerships and collaborations to better manage migration in Nigeria.
The Acting CG stated this in his remarks during the closing ceremony of a four-day intensive training for staff of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) on Modern Migration Management, facilitated by the NIS, in Abuja.
Idris in his words stated that “ Interagency synergy and cooperation remains pivotal in enduring national development and is a good path for all government agencies to follow”.
The CG added that it was through such partnerships that migration can best be managed to benefit migrants and governments. He also applauded the NiDCOM Boss for her resilience and strong commitment to national development.
The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa commended the NIS for the tremendous improvement in their services while also appreciating the acting CG for putting the training together.
The NiDCOM Boss stressed on the need for the two agencies to collaborate and share information to enhance service delivery. She also appreciated NiDCOM staff for being well behaved and disciplined.
Hon. Dabiri-Erewa further assured the CG that the collaboration will be a win-win for NIS, NiDCOM and FG and with the knowledge imparted, NiDCOM will be better positioned to communicate accurate immigration issues with the diaspora community
The participants commended both the Nigeria Immigration Service and Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM for the opportunity to upscale their skills for better Diaspora relations.
