The Osun People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has charged Osun citizens and members of the party in the state on the last lap of campaign in the state ahead of the forthcoming state Assembly election on Saturday.
The PDP in a statement by the Acting Chairman of the party in the state, Dr Akindele Adekunle assured the citizens and residents of the state of their safety throughout the poll and after the election as he said, the party and government in power is poised to protect the lives and property of the citizens and residents of the state during the election.
” We’re a law abiding political party and we abhors violence unlike what the opposition party in the state is known for.
” The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke is the Chief Security Officer of the state and by this, he’s leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety of everyone in the state before, during and after the poll.
” The Governor as the Chief security officer of the state is more than ready to rid the state of hoodlums, criminal elements and fake security operatives that has been imported into Osun from neighbouring states ahead of the poll by the desperate politicians.
” We want to assure the good people of Osun State and our party members that no amount of intimidation and threats from the defeated political hyenas in the state should distract them from coming out enmasse to exercise their civic rights on Saturday and vote for all PDP candidates in the 26 state assembly constituencies we have in Osun”
The chairman of the party in the state Dr Akindele also enjoined the good loving people of Ilesha to activate the ‘Otoge’ political mantra for the outgoing Speaker of the Osun state Assembly, Timothy Owoeye during the poll on Saturday.
” Our good lovable people of Ilesa are too exposed and advanced in political activities to allow someone turn a political seat to his political birthright for two decades now.
” It is high time for them to retire the political spentforce and allow fresh air to breathe into that constituency
” No matter the intimidation and threats he’s deploying here and there in a bid to reserve the seat by all crude means, we’re confident our people in the constituency will stand their ground and enforce the ‘Otoge’ political mantra with their votes on saturday.
” We thank the good people of Osun State for standing by the government of Senator Ademola Adeleke and PDP as a party, we give assurances that we will not backtrack from the path of good governance we have started in the state through our amiable Governor and we will do better, when you please help elect all our Assembly candidates in their different constituencies”, the chairman said.
He said with the support of Osun citizens, the party is sure of an emphatic victory for all their candidates at the forthcoming poll on Saturday.
