A respected media strategist and grassroots politician, Patriot Nelson Ogbu, has formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Benue State House of Assembly under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking a significant development in the political landscape of Ado State Constituency.
Ogbu, a former two-time Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Samuel Ortom, entered the race with extensive experience in governance, communication, and public service. Popularly known as “The Patriot,” he is widely regarded for his integrity, resilience, and commitment to grassroots development.
The aspirant boast an impressive academic background, holding a National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism, and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies.
In addition to his public service record, Ogbu is a media entrepreneur and publisher of Truepointnews Online, Magazines, and Newspapers, a platform he has used to promote accountability and amplify citizens’ voices.
A strong grassroots mobiliser, Ogbu is an active member of the ADC coalition in Benue State. Political observers described his entry into the race as a potential game-changer, citing his blend of media expertise, policy knowledge, and people-oriented leadership style.
