The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Abuja Chapter, has congratulated Mazi Dawud Amuta on his appointment as the Chairman of the Imo State Muslim Pilgrims Board, describing the development as well-deserved and timely.
In a release issued in Abuja on February 8, 2026, the Chairman of the Abuja Chapter of MURIC, Ustaz Yunus Salahudeen, alongside the organisation’s Public Relations Officer, Lukman Laleye Babalola, said the appointment reflected Amuta’s integrity, dedication to Islamic service, and long-standing commitment to the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, particularly in Imo State.
They noted that the new chairman, an active member of Muslim Professionals in Da’awah (MPD), has consistently demonstrated leadership, discipline, and selfless service to Islam over the years.
According to the statement, the MURIC leaders expressed confidence that Amuta’s leadership would strengthen the administration of pilgrimage affairs in Imo State and significantly improve both the spiritual and logistical experiences of pilgrims from the state.
The group also commended the Imo State Government for what it described as a thoughtful and strategic choice, expressing optimism that the Muslim Pilgrims Board under Amuta’s leadership would be guided by fairness, transparency, and accountability.
MURIC further offered prayers for divine guidance, wisdom, and good health for the new chairman as he assumes office, expressing hope that his tenure would be marked by unity, success, and positive reforms that would benefit all stakeholders.
