The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) Abuja Chapter has rejoiced with Professor. ABDUL-WAHAB OLASUPO EBGEWOLE, (SAN). on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin.
MURIC in a statement jointly signed by Ustaz Yunus Salahudeen, Chairman and Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Ghali, Secretary said Prof. Abdul-Wahab Olasupo appointment came at a crucial period in the Nation Education trying moment during which his wealth of experience, wisdom, intellectual capacity and Leadership qualities cum emotional intelligence will be most needed.
“We give thanks and utmost gratitude to Allah for His mercies upon Prof. Abdul-Wahab Olasupo for this important, taskful stewardship of leadership to serve the servants of Allah in a Citadel of Learning as a Vicegerent of Allah on earth.
“Our collective prayers for you our dear brother is to hold on to the TRUTH, trust (Amanah), and deliver the message to the people of Nigeria as a leader of a designated community. We pray that Allah shall bless you with wisdom of leadership and mentorship to all and sundry during your period as Vice-Chancellor.
“May Allah in His infinite Mercy grant you patience (Sabr), Hikmah (WISDOM), heart of forgiveness, accommodation for all, open HEART, accessibility, and all-inclusive approach of leadership.
MURIC therefore urged Prof Egbewole to replicate the legacy left behind by the former Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede who the group said was making the nation proud as JAMB Registrar.
“Prof Oloyede should serve as your mirror and mentor on holding up to “Integrity ” and Honesty and above all the love for humanity.
“May Allah Rahmah be with you in your endeavours as you’re planning to succeed in the assignment of a good leadership. Remember that you’re going to be accountable for the stewardship of leadership entrusted upon you to Almighty Allah on the Day of Judgement. Be Just, be honest, be sincere and be prayerful for the guidance of Allah to direct you in making upright decision.I want you to remember that Leadership is a DIVINE TRUST from Allah and a responsibility for the servants of Allah.
“We will always stand up for your support as long as you are on the right path of advancing Justice and Equity in your Institution among the Students and Staff (Academic & Non-Academic) .
