The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Abuja Chapter, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the organisation’s National Secretary-General, Alhaji Abdul Yekeen Williams, who died on Monday, 18th August 2025, at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
In a condolence message jointly signed by the Chairman, Ustaz Yunus Salahudeen, and the Public Relations Officer, Mallam Lukman Laleye Babalola, the Abuja Chapter described the late Williams as a “scribe per excellence, a dedicated human rights activist, and a true uplifter of the banner of Islam in this generation.”
The statement prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, have mercy on him, and grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
It further extended condolences to the Founder and Executive Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, the immediate family of the deceased, and the entire Muslim Ummah, urged them to find solace in the exemplary life and service of the late National Secretary-General.
“May Allah grant the family sabr to bear this trial and reunite us with him in Janatul-Firdaus,” the statement added.
Alhaji Abdul Yekeen Williams was until his death the National Secretary-General of MURIC, widely respected for his commitment to justice, Islamic values, and the promotion of human rights across Nigeria.
