The Oyo State Chapter of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has commended Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, the pioneer Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, for successfully concluding his tenure and leaving behind a transformative legacy.
In a statement released on Friday, Mallam Ibrahim Agunbiade, General State Secretary of MURIC Oyo State Chapter, praised Dr. Abdul-Hameed for turning the young institution from a nascent Polytechnic with minimal structures into a rapidly developing academic hub. Under his five-year leadership, the Polytechnic introduced 14 academic programmes and developed a permanent site, attracting both national and global attention.
Mallam Ibrahim also highlighted the national recognitions Dr. Abdul-Hameed received during his tenure, including the Face of Living Hero of Academic World Award 2025, Best Rector of the Year 2025, and the Fiscal Discipline and Ethics Compliance Award from the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation.
MURIC further noted Dr. Abdul-Hameed’s commitment to staff welfare, institutional harmony, and professional development, with many staff benefiting from local and international training programmes. The organization also acknowledged the vital support of the Polytechnic’s Bursar, Alhaja Rashidah Oladepo, in maintaining financial discipline and administrative stability.
In addition, the outgoing Rector was lauded for strengthening community engagement through the Polytechnic’s Entrepreneurship Development Centre, which has empowered youths with practical skills.
“MURIC Oyo State Chapter celebrates the historic contributions of Engr. Dr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed to the growth of Federal Polytechnic Ayede. We pray that Almighty Allah reward his dedication and grant him even greater opportunities for service,” Mallam Ibrahim concluded.
