NAHCON warns public against fake Facebook account impersonating Chairman

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has alerted members of the public to the existence of a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf.

In a public disclaimer issued by the Commission and signed by its Deputy Director Public Affairs, Fatima Sanda Usara, NAHCON disclosed that the fake account falsely claims to belong to the newly appointed Chairman, warning that it has no connection whatsoever with Ambassador Yusuf or the Commission.

Usara explained that the NAHCON Chairman is not present on Facebook or any other social media platform, stressed that any communication originating from such accounts should be treated as fake and misleading.

The Commission therefore urged the public to disregard messages, requests, or information circulated through the impersonated account or any similar platforms, and to promptly report such pages to appropriate authorities.

NAHCON further advised stakeholders, intending pilgrims, and the general public to rely exclusively on the Commission’s verified and official communication channels for accurate information regarding Hajj operations and related activities, reiterated its commitment to protecting citizens from misinformation and online impersonation.
