The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) have agreed to enhance their collaboration to increase public awareness and tackle the pervasive issues of human trafficking and violence against persons.
This commitment was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by NAPTIP’s Director General, Binta Adamu Bello, and her team to NTA’s Headquarters in Abuja.
They were received by the Director General of NTA, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, represented by the Executive Director News, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi.
During the visit, Binta Adamu Bello lauded NTA’s ongoing support in broadcasting NAPTIP’s activities, particularly through the weekly program “NAPTIP ON THE MOVE,” and for providing a platform to disseminate critical information nationwide. She highlighted the impact of NTA’s contributions in aiding the agency’s mission and requested continued support to further their cause.
While responding, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi emphasized NTA’s dedication to the cause, described human trafficking as a pressing national issue. He assured NAPTIP of NTA’s unwavering support, stating, “We shall continue to play our critical role in this regard. We are at your beck and call when it concerns human trafficking in Nigeria.”
The strengthened partnership between NAPTIP and NTA is expected to amplify efforts in combating human trafficking through enhanced public enlightenment and strategic communication initiatives.
