In a move to enhance the capacity of its operatives, the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Binta Adamu Bello, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the Defence Intelligence College (DIC), Karu, Abuja.
During the visit, the DG emphasized the need for a specialized training program for NAPTIP officers, citing the evolving nature and complexities of human trafficking in Nigeria. She acknowledged the existing partnership between the agency and the College and sought further collaboration in intelligence-driven training to strengthen the fight against human trafficking.
Responding, the Commandant of the Defence Intelligence College, Rear Admiral P.E. Effah, commended the NAPTIP DG for her commitment to capacity-building. He reiterated the importance of inter-agency collaboration and assured that the College would consider NAPTIP’s request, extending training opportunities to the agency as the need arises.
A key highlight of the visit was a guided tour of an ongoing training session within the College, where the DG observed firsthand the institution’s specialized intelligence training programs.
This visit mark another strategic step in NAPTIP’s continuous efforts to strengthen its operatives’ skills in intelligence gathering and tactical response to human trafficking.
