The Directorate of Research and Information of the National Assembly is set to commission its newly completed Ultra-Modern Newsroom, a state-of-the-art facility aimed at enhancing the Legislature’s communication capabilities.
The commissioning ceremony, according to Dr. Ali B. Umoru, Secretary of the Research and Information Directorate, will be performed by the Clerk to the National Assembly on Tuesday, 3rd February 2026, at 12:00 noon at Room 1.310, Annex I, Third Floor of the National Assembly Complex.
Dr. Umoru described the new newsroom as a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to modernize the National Assembly’s communication infrastructure. He noted that the facility is equipped to improve information gathering, processing, and dissemination while providing a technologically advanced working environment for media and information officers.
“The commissioning of this newsroom underscores the leadership’s commitment to institutional efficiency, transparency, and improved public engagement through timely and accurate communication,” Dr. Umoru added.
Invited guests are expected to be seated promptly at the start of the ceremony.
The development signaled the National Assembly’s dedication to leveraging modern technology to strengthen its communication with the public and stakeholders.
