NECO releases 2024 June/July SSCE results ….. 60% of candidates obtain credit in English, Maths, 3 others

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2024 June/July Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), with 60.55 per cent of candidates obtaining five credits or more, including English Language and Mathematics.
NECO Registrar, Prof.Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, announced this during a press briefing at the NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State, on Thursday, September 19.
According to Wushishi, a total of 1,376,423 candidates registered for the exam, consisting of 706,950 males and 669,473 females.
Highlighting the performance of candidates, the registrar stated, “The number of candidates that sat for the exam is 1,367,736, comprising 702,112 males and 665,624 females.
“The number of candidates with five credits and above, including English and Mathematics, is 828,284, representing 60.55 per cent.
“The number of candidates with five credits and above, irrespective of English and Mathematics, is 1,147,597, representing 83.90 per cent.” He stated.
He further revealed that 40 schools involved in mass examination malpractice.
He also noted that this year’s figures showed a significant reduction compared to last year.
