Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has commended the Cross River State Journalists’ Forum (CROSSJOF), Abuja, for unveiling its new publication, Panorama Magazine, describing it as a major step in strengthening diaspora reportage in Cross River State and across the global Nigerian community.
Dabiri-Erewa made the remarks during a strategic engagement between NiDCOM and CROSSJOF, where she lauded the forum for its innovation, professionalism and dedication to development-driven journalism. She noted that Panorama has the potential to serve as a vital platform for spotlighting diaspora achievements, promoting meaningful dialogue and advancing narratives that shape national development.
The NiDCOM chief also hailed the leadership of CROSSJOF Chairman, Mrs. Francisca Ogar, saying her work reflected the growing influence of women in media leadership nationwide.
She reaffirmed NiDCOM’s readiness to support media platforms that amplify diaspora issues at federal, state and local levels, particularly in Cross River State.
In her response, Mrs. Ogar thanked Dabiri-Erewa for her consistent support for media organisations and diaspora-focused initiatives. She explained that NiDCOM’s encouragement has helped inspire renewed commitment within Cross River State, culminating in the recent inauguration of the Cross River State Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM), headed by former NiDCOM staff member, Mr. Otu Okor.
Ogar announced that Panorama Magazine will feature dedicated pages for NiDCOM activities, ensuring steady visibility for diaspora engagements, initiatives and success stories.
Both organisations pledged to deepen collaboration to enhance diaspora awareness, promote accurate reportage and encourage wider participation of Cross River indigenes and Nigerians worldwide in global development conversations.
