The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has congratulated Dr. Timileyin Oluseyi, a Nigerian-born medical doctor in the United States, for his outstanding and historic achievement in his residency program.
In a statement signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of Media, Public Relations & Protocols Unit, the Commission described Dr. Oluseyi’s feat winning all eight of the program’s top awards as unprecedented in the institution’s history and a monumental source of pride for Nigeria and the Black community globally.
According to NiDCOM, Dr. Oluseyi is also the first Black resident in the history of the institution to attain such a milestone, having outperformed all his peers across every key metric during his training.
Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, hailed the development as “excellence at its peak,” applauding Dr. Oluseyi’s brilliance, resilience, and dedication.
“Dr. Timileyin Oluseyi has shown what Nigerians in the diaspora are capable of. He has raised the bar in the medical field and emerged as a role model for millions of young Nigerians across the globe,” she stated.
NiDCOM emphasized the importance of celebrating such exemplary achievements to help change global narratives and reflect the positive contributions of Nigerians abroad.
“His achievement is a strong reminder of the great potential within our diaspora community. We are proud of him and look forward to even greater milestones,” Dabiri-Erewa added.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to engaging and honouring Nigerians in the diaspora who continue to uplift the nation’s image through distinction and professional excellence.
