NIDCOM Chairman celebrates Akinwumi Adesina@65

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Adeshina Akinwumi as he marks his 65th birthday today.

 

In a message released by the Head of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Hon. Dabiri-Erewa described Akinwumi as an exceptional visionary, a remarkable leader, and a distinguished economist whose impact continues to resonate across Africa and the globe. She praised his outstanding contributions to the development of the continent and wished him continued success and divine guidance as he advances Africa’s economic growth on the global stage.

 

Akinwumi Adesina is a Nigerian economist and the President of the African Development Bank (AFDB). He made history in 2015 by becoming the first Nigerian to serve as President of the AFDB, where he has been instrumental in driving key projects that support the continent’s sustainable development. Before his presidency at the AFDB, he served as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, where he spearheaded transformative reforms in the agricultural sector.

 

Adesina was also Vice President of Policy and Partnerships for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) before his political appointments. He was re-elected for a second term as AFDB President in 2020, underscoring his leadership and dedication to Africa’s development.

 

Today, as he celebrate his 65th birthday, his legacy as a trailblazer in African development remained undeniable.
