The Niger State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Daniel Clifford Shashere, describing his death as a monumental loss to the state and the nation.
Reacting to the sad development, the current Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, in a condolence message, said Mr. Shashere was a visionary leader whose legacy of service and integrity remains etched in the state’s history.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Niger State, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Shashere family, friends, associates, and the entire Niger State community on this irreparable loss,” Usman stated.
He noted that Mr. Shashere was not only an exemplary administrator but also a compassionate humanitarian who consistently championed the welfare of civil servants and the general populace.
“During his tenure as SSG, he demonstrated exceptional administrative acumen, unwavering integrity, and an uncommon dedication to the progress of our dear state,” the SSG added.
According to him, Mr. Shashere’s leadership brought remarkable efficiency in government coordination, inter-ministerial collaboration, and effective policy implementation, setting a standard for public service delivery in the state.
He stressed that beyond his official responsibilities, the late Shashere was known for his open-door policy and sincere commitment to addressing challenges with wisdom and patience.
“As we mourn this great loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived in service to humanity. His legacy will continue to inspire generations of public servants,” Alhaji Usman said.
He assured that the Niger State Government stands with the Shashere family during this difficult time and remains committed to upholding the values of excellence, integrity, and selfless service that the late SSG embodied.
The government prayed for the repose of his soul and for strength and comfort for the bereaved family.
