The Niger State Police Command has decorated a total of 713 officers recently promoted to various ranks, including five newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and 708 other ranks across different cadres.

The decoration ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2025, during the Command’s end-of-the-month Senior Officers’ Conference at the Police Officers’ Mess, Minna. The Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, presided over the event.
In his remarks, CP Elleman congratulated the newly promoted officers and expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his recommendation to the Police Service Commission, which facilitated the promotion of the officers.
He also acknowledged the recent promotion of CP Falade Michael, the former Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Niger Command, who was decorated at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Monday, July 28, 2025. CP Elleman commended his dedication and impactful leadership, noting that his efforts significantly enhanced the performance of Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), leading to a reduction in crime across the state. He wished him success in his new role as CP Federal Operations (FEDOPS), Abuja.
The five newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police decorated at the ceremony included:
ACP Godwin Idehai – Area Commander, New-Bussa
ACP Etsu Abdulmalik – Area Commander, Bosso
ACP Leticia Onwuchekwa – ACP Administration
ACP Edmund Knight – Area Commander, Shiroro
ACP Sekat B. Tapshak – Medical Officer
Additionally, several Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) were also decorated. They included:

Sergeant to Inspector – 415
Corporal to Sergeant – 205
Total – 713 officers
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, ACP Godwin Idehai, Area Commander New-Bussa, expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, the Police Service Commission, and the Niger State Commissioner of Police. He pledged that the promoted officers would redouble their efforts in service delivery, noting that the elevation serves as a motivation to do more.
He affirmed that the officers would remain steadfast in discharging their duties with renewed dedication and professionalism.
