In a demonstration of continued commitment to the welfare of officers and their families, the Niger State Police Command has presented cheques totaling N21,604,891.65 to the families and next-of-kin of thirteen deceased officers under the Force’s Group Life Assurance Scheme.
The symbolic presentation took place on Tuesday, April 30, 2025, and was conducted on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips, by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Falade A. Michael, and DCP Aminu M. Garba, Deputy Commissioner, Administration.
While addressing the beneficiaries, DCP Falade conveyed the Commissioner’s heartfelt condolences to the families, acknowledging the sacrifices made by their loved ones in service to the nation. He appreciated the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for prioritizing the welfare of police personnel and for remembering the families of fallen heroes.
“The cheques presented today are a token of support and a demonstration that their service and sacrifice are not forgotten,” DCP Falade said. “We pray that God comforts the bereaved families and meets them at the point of their needs.”
He further encouraged the families to accept the gesture in good faith and extended wishes for safe travels back to their various destinations.
The presentation is part of the ongoing welfare scheme initiated by the Inspector General of Police to support the families of officers who lost their lives in active service.
