The Niger State Police Command has extended its in-house training and retraining exercise to personnel of the Suleja Area Command as part of efforts to improve investigative skills and overall operational efficiency.
According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP W. A. Abiodun, the initiative is in line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, to enhance the capacity of detectives and other personnel for optimal performance.
Led by the Research and Planning Officer, CSP Jude Akaeze, the training team had earlier concluded sessions in Minna at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on 6th August 2025 before proceeding to Suleja. The retraining covered various divisions including ‘A’ Division Suleja, ‘B’ Division Suleja, Madalla Division, Maje Division, Tafa Division, and Gawu-Babangida Division between 11th and 14th August 2025.
The sessions focused on key areas such as fundamental human rights, professional compilation of police case files, preparation of charges and prosecution, statement-taking procedures under the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, provisions of the new Police Act, code of conduct, bail procedures, and intelligence-led investigation techniques.
Senior officers in attendance included the Area Commander Suleja, ACP Sani Musa; DPO ‘A’ Division Suleja, CSP Patrick Abhulimhen; DPO Gawu-Babangida Division, CSP Yusuf Bisallah; DPO ‘B’ Division Suleja, SP Abubakar Jibrin; and DPO Madalla Division, SP Bello Goshe. The Command noted that the level of participation was satisfactory and the exercise provided an opportunity for officers to refresh and update their professional knowledge.
