The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to sustaining Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s agricultural revolution.
In a congratulatory message celebrating Governor Bago’s recognition as Best Governor of the Year 2024 in Agriculture by the Sun Publishing Company, the SSG highlighted the governor’s dedication to making agriculture a cornerstone of his administration’s development agenda.
Alhaji Usman stated that Governor Bago’s administration has introduced innovative policies and programs, resulting in significant investments in modern farming techniques, irrigation systems, agro-processing, and farmer empowerment initiatives. These efforts, according to him, have not only boosted food production but also created thousands of jobs, improved rural livelihoods, and positioned Niger State as a leader in Nigeria’s agricultural revolution.
“The award is a testament to Governor Bago’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth. His administration’s focus on empowering smallholder farmers, women, and youth has ensured that the benefits of agricultural growth are felt across all segments of society,” the SSG said.
Alhaji Usman added that the governor’s emphasis on value addition through agro-processing has opened new markets for the state’s agricultural products, both locally and internationally.
He described the award as a well-deserved recognition of Governor Bago’s visionary leadership and the collective efforts of the people of Niger State in driving the agricultural transformation agenda.
The SSG expressed appreciation to the Sun Publishing Company for recognizing Governor Bago’s contributions, saying the honor highlights the transformative power of leadership dedicated to the people’s welfare.
