Nigeria congratulates Botswana on Independence anniversary, reaffirms commitment to bilateral relations

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria has extended warm congratulations to the Republic of Botswana on the occasion of its Independence Anniversary.

 

In a statement signed by the Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotiti Ebienfa, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, expressed Nigeria’s best wishes to Botswana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency, Dr. Lemogang Kwape.

 

As Botswana celebrate this momentous anniversary of sovereignty and nationhood, Nigeria joined in honouring the enduring legacy of peace, democracy, and socio-economic progress that continue to define the Botswana people. The cordial bilateral relations between Nigeria and Botswana, rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and a common vision for Africa’s development, a source of pride and a beacon of partnership in the African continent.

 

Nigeria therefore reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Republic of Botswana in areas of mutual interest, including trade, education, governance, innovation, and continental integration under the frameworks of the African Union (AU) and other multilateral platforms.

 

The Ministry commended Botswana’s steadfast dedication to good governance, sustainable development, and regional stability, and looks forward to deeper collaboration for the prosperity and well-being of both nations.
