The Nigeria Customs Service Technical and Hangar Services Limited (NCT&HSL) held its maiden Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Abuja, brought together key stakeholders from the aviation, customs, and public sector logistics industries.
The AGM, attended by senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), representatives from the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), and other stakeholders, focused on enhancing operational development and strengthening air surveillance capabilities.
In his speech,Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, commended the company’s achievements since its board’s inauguration, noted significant progress.
“It is evident that the company has made great strides in a short time, surpassing its previous achievements. The future holds even greater potential,” he stated.
Adeniyi also disclosed that the Ministry of Finance had shown interest in further investment, which could bring fresh capital and expertise to drive growth.
“As the majority shareholder, our expectation is for the company to grow into a profit-yielding entity, delivering value to stakeholders and shareholders,” he added.
The Managing Director of NCT&HSL, Capt. Kuhi Mbaya, emphasized the company’s role in modernizing customs operations, aligning with the Comptroller-General’s initiative to establish specialized subsidiaries for efficiency and revenue generation.
He highlighted measures to balance workforce competence with financial prudence, including cost-effective maintenance strategies such as equipment leasing and resource-sharing partnerships.
The AGM concluded with the appointment of new auditors and the reappointment of Directors. The meeting also laid the foundation for future plans, including upgrading aircraft maintenance facilities, enhancing ground handling services, and expanding the NCS fleet to support customs enforcement operations.
