Nigeria felicitates Qatar on Independence anniversary, pledges stronger cooperation

The Federal Government of Nigeria has congratulated the State of Qatar on the occasion of its Independence Anniversary, expressing commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

In a goodwill message, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, extended warm felicitations to Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and the people of Qatar.

Ambassador Tuggar described the anniversary as a testament to the resilience, unity, and progress of the Qatari people. He noted that Nigeria celebrates alongside Qatar and remain committed to mutual respect, cooperation, and global partnership.

The Minister further highlighted the cordial relations between Nigeria and Qatar in areas including trade, transportation, education, energy, and security, as well as cooperation within international organisations such as the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to deepen these valued ties and explore new areas of collaboration for the benefit of both countries.

In the statement signed by Ministry spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Nigeria also conveyed best wishes of peace, prosperity, and continued advancement to the Government and people of Qatar.
