Nigeria felicitates Republic of Congo on Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government of Nigeria has congratulated the Republic of the Congo on its Independence Anniversary, reaffirmed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting African unity.

 

In a statement issued on Friday, 15 August 2025, by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed warm felicitations to his Congolese counterpart, His Excellency Jean-Claude Gakosso, as the nation marks its historic sovereignty.

 

Ambassador Tuggar described the anniversary as a proud testament to the determination, unity, and resilience of the Congolese people in their pursuit of national development.

 

He noted that Nigeria and the Republic of the Congo enjoy long-standing cooperative relations, strengthened through trade, cultural exchange, maritime collaboration, and regional peace initiatives.

 

The Minister reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to further deepen these ties, explore new areas of mutual benefit, and work together to address regional and global challenges.
