The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has opened a new chapter in Nigeria–India cooperation following a high-level meeting between its Director General, Dr. Matthew Olumide Adepoju, and the leadership of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) at the agency’s headquarters in Bengaluru, India.
The talks, which build on the 2020 Memorandum of Understanding on the peaceful uses of outer space, focused on satellite development, Earth observation, and capacity building. Both sides expressed commitment to deepening collaboration and leveraging expertise for mutual benefits.
The Nigerian delegation included Dr. Jeb David Nyomo, Director of the National Centre for Remote Sensing (NCRS), Jos, and Dr. James Godstime Kadiri, Director of Strategic Space Applications (SSA). The team received a warm reception at ISRO Headquarters, highlighted by symbolic exchanges of gifts and national emblems.
The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation in space science and technology, while creating opportunities for innovation, technological advancement, and sustainable partnerships between the two nations.
